The Beverly Hillbillies
"the beverly hillbillies monster truck
This is another show stopping truck! This truck is from the 1993 movie "The Beverly Hillbillies."
This truck was purchased from a museum in Sioux Falls, SD. It was then converted to a ride truck and participated in many events ranging from parades, monster truck events, customer appreciation days, truck and tractor pulls, truck shows, etc.
This has been a great truck to bring in fans and enthusiasts from all walks of life that recognize this truck and appreciate monster trucks in general and their history.
Due to this trucks origin we have retired it as a ride truck and it is strictly for display.
This is a small piece of monster truck history. This truck has a long history behind it before it became a movie truck. This truck was originally the “Lethal Weapon” monster truck. Then purchased by Golden State Promotions and ran under the name “Copenhagen/Skoal Crusher.”
After that it was sold to FOX studios. From there it was handed to George Barris, a long time legend in car customizing. While Mr. Barris had it, it went under a face lift and was built to accommodate the production of the movie we all remember and the television series that it was produced after.
From here it is, as they say, history. The truck was converted to a 1921 Oldsmobile as we see in the movie.
Originally it had a 528 cid alcohol injected ford engine. Now it has a 460 Cobra Jet crate engine producing 485 hp. This is the only aspect of the truck that has changed, excluding the ride seats.
It rides on a leaf spring suspension, 5 ton Rockwell military axles with Clark planetary ends, a SCS drop transfer case, and a well built C-6 Tranny, with 66” Goodyear Terra Tires.
This is a great truck for that memorable occasion! People from anywhere will recognize this truck and the enthusiasts will recognize the history behind it.
